Just got back from a weekend in the South of France. Booked to hire a "convertible" on the hire company's website and got given this piece of utter shit.
The Citroen C3 Pluriel is, quite simply, the worst car I have ever driven.
Worse still, they tried to give it some sort of tiptronic gearbox, which seems to be a bad auto 'box, with a manual override. Every time you change gear, there is a delay of a couple of seconds, while the car jolts forwards and backwards and you feel sick.
It has the turning circle of an oil tanker and changing from reverse to a forward gear forces the car to take a holiday, which basically makes any form of quick turn-around a no-no... as a result, so are J-turns, which is a shame as it would have been better to capture one on video.
Anyway, after picking it up, I decided to see how well it could do a handbrake turn. The answer is "badly"... I guess it is the product of the long-travel suspension taking up too much of the inertia, or something...!
